McINTYRE LAUNCHES BID WITH “SEE THE PEOPLE” TRIP THROUGH DISTRICT
Dr. Dave McIntyre began his run for the US Congress with a run through Congressional District 17, stopping seven times in twelve hours to give people an opportunity to see and meet the candidate.
“This is a big district,” said McIntyre. “Parts of twelve counties. It takes nearly five hours to cross north to south in a car. It includes cities and ranches, urban and rural, big universities and tiny communities. The only way to understand ‘We the People’ in this district is to get out and ‘See the People.’ That’s what I am doing on the first day of campaigning. That’s what I will do after I am elected.”
“This is very symbolic for my family,” McIntyre explained. “Members of my family have lived in Grimes County for more than 150 years. My parents met in Anderson in high school. Both my grandfathers were county clerks there. My grandmother lived next door to the courthouse. As a child I played on the courthouse steps."
“My issues are the people’s issues: deficit spending, excessive government, abuse of the Constitution, jobs, the economy, education, security of the border and the country, intelligent use of our troops overseas. It’s time to stop worrying about the future and do something about it. It’s time to turn out the officials who are making things worse, and elect officials who can make American right again.”
