Ask a disinterested third party. Ask someone with nothing to gain. Ask someone who's paid for that expertise (if you can find someone who's paid for that expertise!). Here's a list of people and organizations that will tell you that Dave's national security expertise is deep, current, and worth the money they paid for it.
