Note to Friends and Supporters:

Cathy and I want to express our sincerest thanks to the many citizens who supported our campaign. We could not have asked more of the many friends and loyal Americans who contributed their time, money and prayers to this endeavor - not to mention the support of their good names.  I am sorry that I was unable to reward your efforts with a victory for our team.  But I do believe we were able to improve the depth and quality of the debate about our future, and that will benefit us all.

I said from the first day of our campaign, and continue to believe, that we are at a turning point in the history of this great nation. The current policy of continually encouraging and rewarding irresponsible behavior by taking from those who work and save and giving to those who don't is not sustainable.  Not only does it punish good citizens -- in the long run it harms those it claims to help by discouraging self-reliance and encouraging dependence on the government. It destroys the economic viability of the nation.  And it undermines the legitimacy of our government in the eyes of all by undermining respect for the Constitution, which is the basis for our sense of unity as a nation.  I encourage all citizens, and in particular all our supporters, to remain engaged in the political debate, and to do all you can to advance candidates who promise to reduce the debt, constrain government bureaucracy, and advance a traditional interpretation of the Constitution. By supporting these traditional objectives, and with traditional respect for our Creator, I am confident we can return America to its traditional role as champion of individual life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in a 21st century world.

Several supporters have told me they continue to use the information contained on our web site as they evaluate current political events and candidates, and at their request we will leave the site active for the time being.  However, if you wish to contact me personally, please direct your email to mcintyredh@aol.com .  My new web site, Thinking Enemy, will be up and running soon.  And of course you can remain engaged as a friend on my facebook page .
